Is a CBT course on XML language basics enough to create Web services?

I have done a CBT course on Intro to XML Language basics. Do you think that is enough to create your own Web services?
Some wizard-style tools now exist for creating so the answer is probably yes. However, understanding what is going on under the hood of Web services may require more that you covered in your CBT course. This knowledge would be very useful if (when) there are problems in your Web services.
