TIBCO buys Foresight, strenthening B2B transaction offerings and healthcare market ties

On January 8 TIBCO, a provider of infrastructure and integration software, acquired Foresight for an undisclosed sum. The company brings to TIBCO experience with transaction automation software and EDI for health care markets.

In a press release TIBCO said Foresight has more than 400 customers and will retain its founder and CEO, Robert Fisher. Foresight offers products that connect business partners and validate transactions, which reduces demands to office administrators. The company’s experience in the healthcare and EDI markets are sure to complement TIBCO’s core B2B capabilities.

TIBCO specializes in data integration but has grown to offer SOA, BPM and MDM products. The company’s last acquisition target was DataSynapse, which it bought in August 2009 for $28 millon, bringing itself into the grid and cloud-computing spaces.
