Interoperability issues

David Lithicum discusses the difficulty with Java and .NET interoperability.

I keep hearing in the press and from vendors that Java and .NET can be made to interoperate, but we're having a lot of trouble achieving that. Is it just us or is the reality a lot more difficult than the hype? If it's the latter, do you have any Java/.NET interop tips?
Anything can be made to interoperate, that's not the question. The question is how easily can it be made to interoperate? In the case of .Net and Java, they are built by different people are not coordinating interfaces, thus the lack of interoperability.
