The winner was Van Ameyde International, a company specializing in claims and risk management and serving international insurance companies, and others. The company optimized their claims handling process with agile methods and model driven development. Van Ameyde's European Claims Handling Optimization (ECHO) team delivered a system that produced a 30% reduction in claims resolution times -- while at the same time providing customization that allowed for the resolution of claims in 16 different countries, each of which have their own separate claims handling regulations.
The runner up winner was AmerisourceBerger Corporation, a large pharmaceutical services company. Their BPM project focused on key performance indicators (KPIs) within the supply chain. Focus on KPIs and on improving core business processes enabled the company to save an estimated $40 million per year using BPM techniques.
